Nomadland

I just watched the movie, ‘Nomadland’. I purchased it online,

fell in love and watched it once again the next day.

Yet, I found myself still deeply affected by it,

and I had to watch it once more,

2 days later.

The film leaves a profoundly realistic impression,

blurring the lines between documentary and fiction.

Apart from the 2 main actresses, everyone portrayed in the movies were played by real nomads,

and it was lovely to see their life really turning into a fascinating work of art.

The main character, named “Fern”,

is aptly named after the plant.

This seems to fit well with her personality; she doesn’t have to bloom.

In her isolated lifestyle,

she appears lonely yet liberating, at the same time.

What would “a home” mean in our lives,

and what are the significance of things we hold onto dearly?

What would an unbound life look like,

and what about a life alone?

This movie delves deeply resonates with goals I’ve always set for myself,

and that is self-reflection and self-realization.

I can tell this movie will be on my mind for quite some time.
